PANEL 1: Houndmage looks around the door frame at Foxwolf sitting on the couch with a laptop and blanket on her lap. He says, “I thought you said you were going out shopping for a gift?”
PANEL 2: Foxwolf looks up at Houndmage across the room and responds, “No, I’ve been shopping online for a gift.” Houndmage looks back at her skeptically.
PANEL 3: “And no, I’m not just looking at things to buy for myself due to algorithmic manipulation of my aggressively cataloged online behavior patterns,” Foxwolf continues, narrowing her eyes at Houndmage.
PANEL 4: On Foxwolf’s laptop an online store called “SHOP DRIP” glows with “today’s deals.” Above the shop’s search bar, it says “WE NOTICED YOU LIKE” and it has been pre-populated with the suggestion “cute little guys”. The deals of the day are each impossibly cutesy little animal figures. OH my GOODNESS,” Foxwolf is looking at a clown cat figurine. “Look at you!”
PANEL 5: Foxwolf is entranced. Balloons reflect in her eyes and sweat drips down her temples. “Hey did we get a package or something?” From the other room, Houndmage approaches the living room again. “I heard the dogs barking…” “HOLY shit,” he says entering the room.
PANEL 6: Houndmage stares down at Foxwolf with his arms crossed. The room is littered with boxes and packaging, and most notably, many, many clown animals. The curtains are patterned with balloons and the couch where Foxwolf had been sitting is filled with a giant stuffed clown dog and giant clown bear. Foxwolf is wearing face paint and a big rubber nose. Snapped out of her shopping trance and finally noticing Houndmage, she says, “Oh hey hon! … I recently decided I really like clowns.”
